These days he travels in his rig with his family, which means the campers we build aren't just capable — they're set up for real life out there, day after day.
We don't just sell campers. Who In The Heck Is Basil?
Basil Lynch has spent the better part of a decade living out of trucks. Months at a stretch in Baja chasing surf, weeks in the Sierra, the Oregon coast, and Utah's White Rim. He's slept in these campers, cooked in them, broken them, fixed them, and driven them on every kind of road there is.
Surfing is the thread that ties it all together. Every rig he's built — FJ Cruiser, F-250, Tundra, and now a 2002 F-350 7.3 diesel with a Four Wheel Camper — has been designed around one thing: getting to remote water and living simple, off-grid, for as long as he wants to be out there.
These days Basil travels with his family. The rig isn't a weekend toy — it's how they take extended trips together, cook dinner on a beach in Baja, wake up at a trailhead in the Sierra, and live out of the back of a truck for weeks at a time. That changes the build. Comfort, reliability, and room for real life matter as much as capability. Every rig that leaves the shop is designed with that in mind.
He opened Basil's Garage because nobody was doing FWC builds the way he wished someone had done it for him — with real miles behind the advice, honest opinions about what actually matters, and work that holds up in the field. Every lesson from the road comes back into the shop.

I don't write reviews often, and I especially don't write them if asked — so wanted to write this unsolicited review of a really great experience we had with Basil's Garage and Summit Expedition Trucks getting a flatbed installed on our RAM 3500. Incredibly patient, willing to answer my never-ending stream of questions, and incredibly accommodating when I made a mistake on logistics. These guys do exceptional work and are a joy to work with.
