SoCal’s only GFC partner shop location. We sell, install, and outfit more GFCs than anyone else on the West Coast.
Go Fast Campers
Pop-up campers for trucks that actually get used.
Why GFC
The lightest, toughest camper on the market. Period.
GFC's Platform Camper weighs roughly 275 lb. For context: most wedge or straight pop campers start at 400–600 lb. Full slide-in pop-ups can run 1,100–1,800 lb. That weight difference is the whole pitch — it changes what truck you can put the camper on, what suspension you need, what fuel economy you keep, and how the rig handles off-road.
Setup is under a minute. Honeycomb panel and all-aluminum construction mean it's weather-sealed, durable, and ready to take on whatever you throw at it. It's the camper you’ll forget is even on the back of your vehicle — and the one we run in our own shop truck, chopped 80.
The GFC lineup
Four models. One engineering philosophy.
GFC's current catalog — the Platform Camper in two sizes, their rooftop tent plus the topper. Every one built in Montana, every one aluminum-honeycomb construction.
Platform Camper V2 Pro
The gold standard. 275 lb. Pop-up construction with an upper sleeping platform and full bed access below. Fits mid-size trucks (Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado, Gladiator) and full-size short beds (F-150, Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, Tundra). The default choice for most customers — and the one we've installed the most.
V2 Pro Rooftop Tent
Standalone RTT built with the same construction philosophy as the Platform Camper — fast setup, weather-sealed, durable. Goes on bed racks, roof rails, or truck-bed cross bars. For customers who want the sleep platform without the full camper.
Platform Camper V2 MAX
New flagship — 18" longer than the V2 Pro. More interior length for taller sleepers, longer stays, and anyone who wants a little more room without jumping into full pop-up territory.
GFC Topper
Aluminum truck bed topper, same construction philosophy as the Platform Camper — just without the pop-up sleeping area. Lighter, simpler, more affordable. Great for gear storage, bed coverage, or as a mounting platform for a standalone rooftop tent.
The engineering pitch
Why aluminum, why pop-up, why this approach.
GFC built the Platform Camper to solve a specific problem: how do you get pop-up camper comforts without destroying your truck's performance? Traditional campers are great, but they come with real penalties — fuel economy, handling, tire wear, suspension work. Rooftop tents are great too, but you don't get interior living space…
The answer was aluminum construction and honeycomb panels (strong, light, weather-sealed), wedge pop-up architecture for standing headroom when you need it, and a low profile when you don't. The result is a camper that threads the needle: pop-up comfortable, RTT-light, and fast enough to set up that you'll actually use it. Plus, they’re tough as hell and will hold up to the harshest off-road conditions.
Where to get one
GFC at Basil's Garage.
Partner since November, 2022.
When Go Fast Campers launched their partner shop network in late 2022, Basil's was one of the original four locations on board — alongside shops in Sacramento, Denver, and Orange County. The network has grown a lot since. Today there are 14 GFC partner shops across the US and Canada, and Basil's is still the only one in Southern California.
The GFC partner relationship isn't a typical dealership — we're plugged in. We work directly with their team in Belgrade, Montana on every order, host GFC meet-ups and community events at the shop, and feed real-world install feedback back to engineering when we see something on the bench worth flagging. After three-plus years and hundreds of installs, a GFC build at our shop just goes.
We know every fitment, every option, every quirk, every model — V1 originals through V2 Pro, the V2 Pro Topper, V2 Pro RTT, and the new V2 MAX. Tacomas to F-350s, gas and diesel, brand-new trucks and twenty-year-old rigs. When GFC adds a vehicle or releases a new product, we're usually one of the first shops in the country to install one. By the time most customers' campers land here, the unusual stuff is already worked out.
