Summit Expedition Trucks
High-quality trays and canopies.
Why SET
Purpose-built aluminum, fitments for every truck.
SET trays and canopies are built in Canada for real overland and work-truck use. 100% aluminum construction, fitments for nearly every vehicle sold in North America, and a catalog of options that cover almost any customer's needs.
We chose SET because the quality holds up. After years of customer builds, we've seen their trays handle Baja, Alaska, full-time travel, and hard daily work — and the hardware still looks and functions like the day we installed it.
Three ways to run one
Tray, tray + canopy, or tray + camper.
SET trays work as a standalone flatbed, paired with a canopy for touring storage, or as the foundation for a flatbed camper conversion.
SET Tray — flatbed only
Replaces your factory bed with an aluminum tray. Work-truck functionality, underbody drawers, LED tail lights, tray sides, and more.
SET Tray + Flatbed Four Wheel Camper
The foundation for a flatbed Hawk, Hawk+, or Grandby build. SET tray below, FWC pop-up above. Our most popular config.
SET Tray + Canopy
Australian-style touring setup. Gear access, weather-sealed storage, and clean integration on a tray platform.
Vehicle fitments
Ford F-150/F-250/F-350, Ram 1500/2500/3500, Tacoma, Tundra, Ranger, Colorado, Gladiator — and more unusual platforms on request.
Custom fitments
SET can build custom trays or canopies for unusual trucks or specific spec requirements — we'll help you scope it.
Options & accessories
Headache racks, different deck heights (standard or camper-ready), water tanks, under-tray drawers, side tool boxes, LED lighting.
Integration angle
The foundation of most of our flatbed Four Wheel Camper builds.
When a customer comes to us wanting a flatbed Hawk, Hawk+, or Grandby — we start with a SET tray. It's the right combination of weight, strength, and mounting geometry for building a clean, engineered, long-lasting flatbed camper rig.
The decks are sized for camper mounts, the tie-down points are in the right places, the underbody clearance works with the truck after suspension and airbags, and the whole thing integrates with our electrical and water routing. It's not the cheapest platform but it's the one we reach for every time a customer asks for a build that's supposed to hold up for ten years of hard use.

What sets us apart
Custom CAD work, done in-house.
Most shops install SET trays as-is and call it a day. We take it further. Basil designs custom tunnel box, canopy, and storage layouts from scratch in CAD — then works directly with Ralf at SET, who shares factory CAD files back, so we can spec one-off solutions that fit the tray exactly.
That collaboration started with Basil's personal rig and has become a real capability. Built-in water tank compartments, custom divider walls, integrated 3D-printed organizers, hidden electronics housing, specialized drawer layouts — every build can be tuned to how the customer actually travels, not to what's available on the shelf.
A real example
Basil's tunnel box — designed entirely in CAD.
Front tunnel box on his 2002 F-350 was drawn up from scratch and pre-built to house an integrated 10-gallon water tank (plumbed to a second 13-gallon tank in the tray via pressurized pump), custom bin dividers, strap tie-downs, and bulk gear storage. Ralf at SET shared tray CAD files so everything lined up clean. The result is a storage system that's purpose-built around how Basil and his family actually use the rig — and that approach is available to every SET customer we work with.
If you want a canopy or tunnel box that actually fits your life — not just something bolted on top of a tray — talk to us about the CAD process.
