Justin's Tremor.
2026 Ford F-250 + FWC Hawk
5.5-inch Carli Dominator, 38s, Buckstop bumper, and a Hawk camper. Built to drive harder than most overland builds.
Why a 5.5-inch Dominator?
Justin came in wanting two things out of his Tremor: a comfortable rig to camp out of with a Four Wheel Campers Hawk on the back, and the ability to drive that rig harder and faster than most overland builds get to see. Most of our Super Duty customers go with the Carli 2.5-inch Pintop kit — it's the easy default for a camper truck. Justin wasn't most customers, so we went a different direction.
The build is anchored on the Carli Dominator 3.0 system at the taller 5.5-inch lift height. The Dominator runs 3-inch body King shocks instead of the 2.5-inch Pintops — bigger pistons, more shock fluid, significantly better body control on rough roads at speed. On a 23+ aluminum-bodied Super Duty, the 5.5-inch lift is also a prerequisite for that Dominator setup. With it came Carli's torsion sway bar, dual high/low steering stabilizers, fabricated radius arms with limit straps, HD progressive leaf springs, upgraded shackles, long-travel double-bellow airbags, and the Carli Trophy Hitch — a replacement rear hitch that swallows a full 38" spare in the factory location while keeping the truck's full 16,000 lb tow rating.
Wheels and tires landed on Method 707 Bead Grips wrapped in 38" Nitto Ridge Grappler R/T E-rated rubber — the load-rated tire for a truck that's going to carry a slide-in camper. Up front sits a Buckstop Outback bumper, our gold-standard front-end on Super Duty builds because it retains every factory sensor — parking, adaptive cruise, crash warning, all of it. Inside the bumper went a Warn 16.5 TI-S winch on synthetic line, a pair of Baja Designs Squadron Sport amber lights wired to the factory fog circuit, and Baja Designs XL80 Racer Edition driving lights running through a Switch-Pros panel inside the cab.
The rear is set up as a hybrid platform with future flexibility built in. The Carli HD progressive leaf springs are rated to carry 60-70% of the camper's weight, and the Carli long-travel airbags carry the rest with adjustability for whatever load Justin's running. That same flexibility leaves the door open for a future flatbed conversion if he goes that direction. For now it lives under a Hawk — front dinette, king bed slide, both fans, Truma furnace and water heater, the full REDARC Manager 30 + Rogue power system on twin lithiums, and a REDARC pure sine inverter with built-in transfer switch we added at the shop. Clean, simple, and built to drive harder than it looks.
