Clint's F-250 Tremor.
Carli Pintop, GFC topper, built for the Sierras.
A 2024 Ford F-250 Tremor diesel set up for long backcountry trips — Carli Pintop suspension, 38" Toyo R/Ts on Innov8 forged wheels, a GFC topper with full lighting, ARB twin compressor, and a 58-gallon TransferFlow tank for range.
Built in stages, dialed for the long trip.
Clint came to us with a brand-new 2024 Ford F-250 Tremor diesel and a clear use case: long trips into the Sierras with the family, gear in the back, and enough range to skip the gas stops in between. He had a GFC topper on order from the start and wanted to upgrade the suspension, wheels, and tires to suit the way he was actually going to use the truck. We sketched the build out, talked through the Carli suspension options, and ended up scaling the spec up over a few rounds of estimates — he started looking at the Commuter system, then bumped to Backcountry, then committed to the full Pintop with all the goodies. That's a good arc for a Super Duty build: the further you commit, the more the ride and capability open up. Pintop is a different truck.
The first round was the big one. The Carli Pintop 2.5 (2.5/3.5-inch lift) suspension system went on with the heavy-duty leaf pack, fabricated radius arms, replacement torsion sway bar, and both the high-mount and low-mount steering stabilizers — the low mount also brings a diff guard, which earns its keep on dirt-road washouts. Five Innov8 G600 forged 17-inch wheels in machined finish with simulated beadlock rings (one matching full-size spare riding on the Carli Trophy Hitch out back), wrapped in 38-inch Toyo Open Country R/Ts that Clint sourced direct because the R/Ts were on a nationwide backorder through our supplier — we mounted, balanced, and aligned. He kept the Toyo R/T for snow performance: he runs them in the Sierras year-round and didn't want to give that up for a louder mud-terrain. A 58-gallon TransferFlow midship replacement tank goes in for range. Up front, a BMC dual fog light kit and a Baja Designs 7XL Linkable bumper bar (with the front bumper coming off and the plastic panel trimmed for clean fitment) wired through the factory upfitter switches. Then the GFC topper went on with our standard interior lighting kit, the GFC Turbo Cubby assembled and installed in the bed, and the GFC third brake light wired into the truck's harness.
Two more rounds followed once the truck had some miles on it. An ARB Twin onboard compressor went in the bed on a no-drill Super Duty bracket, fully wired and dash-switched for airing tires up and down. A pair of Baja Designs S2 Pro flush-mounted reverse lights went into the rear bumper — clean install, no exposed brackets. Four Baja Designs LED rock lights were added to throw light around the front tires, and the original two-light kit on the truck got cleaned up and tied back in. Last round — Clint wanted scene lighting on the topper for camp setup, so six Baja Designs Squadron Sport black angle-mount lights got mounted on the three GFC doors, two per door, each pair on its own factory upfitter switch. Three switches, three pools of light, light exactly where he needs it. Built to do its job.
