Luis's F-350.
2023 F-350 + FWC Hawk+ Flatbed.

Grandby slide-in to Hawk+ Flatbed. Carli, SET tray with a massive front garage, and storage for a family of four.

Why upgrade to a Hawk+ Flatbed?

Luis came to us after outgrowing his Four Wheel Campers Grandby. He travels with his wife, two kids, and two dogs, and the Grandby's slide-in footprint just couldn't keep up — not enough space, not enough storage, not enough room for the kids. When FWC released the new Hawk+ Flatbed (10 inches longer than the original Hawk Flatbed, with bigger water and battery capacity), Luis was first in line. We did a consignment sale on his old Grandby and ordered him a fully-loaded Hawk+ to match.

Suspension is full Carli — a Commuter 2.0 kit at the 1-inch leveled height with high and low steering stabilizers, sway bar drop brackets, and Carli long-travel airbags out back. The leaf pack is the Carli XXHD progressive (3,500 lb constant load), sized for the camper and tray plus a family's worth of gear. A Hellwig Big Wig rear sway bar tightens body roll up under the camper. Wheels are Method 705 Bead Grips in matte black wrapped in 35×12.5R18 BFG All-Terrain KO2s — F-rated for serious load capacity.

The tray is a Summit Expedition Trucks 9-foot full-size deck, 80 inches wide, with the front cheated back to make room for a 26-inch SET tunnel-box front garage — a 40-inch-tall, 80-inch-wide cabinet with square gas-strut-retained doors that opens up like a service body. (Long bed F-350 makes this possible; you can't fit a front garage like this on a short bed truck.) Below the deck, a 48-inch full-size pull-out drawer, 40-inch front toolboxes, 32-inch rear toolboxes, 35-inch fenders, and a 12.5-gallon SET water tank. Inside the front passenger toolbox, an ARB brushless twin-motor air compressor on an Apex 35-foot hose reel — rotate the dial, pull the hose out to reach all four tires (or your buddy's truck), roll it back when you're done. All factory sensors retained through SET's wiring and blind-spot relocation kits.

On top sits the fully-loaded Hawk+ Flatbed — rear dinette, king bed slide, both fans, the 130L fridge, Truma furnace, Truma water heater with an outdoor shower, the 8-foot side awning with an awning light, side and rear floodlights, and a Yakima JetStream roof rack. Power is the full REDARC Manager Alpha 75 + Rogue on three lithium batteries with two 125W roof solar panels, shore power, and a REDARC inverter — about three to four hours zero-to-full off the alternator alone. Torklift six-step Glowstep scissor stairs for access. We're heading to Mexico with Luis this winter — stoked to see this thing at the remote point breaks.
