What we work on.
Basil's Garage is a vehicle modification and overland build shop. We outfit trucks and rigs for serious travel — and we're an authorized Four Wheel Camper and Go Fast Camper dealer. Whether you want a single upgrade or a full build-from-scratch, everything happens under one roof by a team that actually uses this gear.
Suspension & Drivetrain
Full Carli installs, lift kits, airbags, drivetrain upgrades, steering, wheels & tires, alignments.
12v & Electrical
Auxiliary lighting, switch-pros, wiring harnesses, cab electrical, roof-mounted accessories.
Camper Installs & Service
Four Wheel Camper and Go Fast Camper installs, tie-downs, plumbing, propane, refrigeration, and warranty work.
Water Systems & Plumbing
Fresh and grey water tanks, pumps, outdoor showers, under-body water systems.
Armor, Bumpers & Winches
Buckstop and ARB bumper installs, winch setups (Warn), skid plates, rock sliders, tire carriers.
Advanced Power Systems
REDARC-based systems. Custom under-seat and power-box installs, DC-DC, solar, inverters, lithium, Starlink.
Flatbed & Canopy Conversions
SET-based flatbed builds, canopy outfits, tray and canopy integrations with camper and storage systems.
Fully Custom Builds
Truck + camper + every system in between — for customers with a specific mission and a blank sheet to start from.

Shop Rates
Mechanical work
Install labor on suspension, bumpers, wheels, armor, accessories.
$185 / Hr
Electrical work
12v wiring, lighting, switching, accessory harnesses, custom power systems, DC-DC, solar, lithium, inverters, REDARC.
$200 / Hr
Fabrication labor
Custom brackets, mounts, enclosures, one-off metal work.
$200 / Hr
Oversized vehicle / outdoor work
For rigs too big for the bays or jobs that have to be done outside the shop. (we have a 10’ door)
$225 / Hr
Customer-supplied parts
Additional labor surcharge when you bring your own parts.

What we don't do:
General vehicle maintenance (oil changes, engine work, transmission services, routine service).

Before you leave town
Pre-Trip & Expedition Inspections.
We've been there. Breakdowns happen when you're a long way from help — and most of the time, they were preventable with a good once-over before the trip.
Expedition Inspection
$150 · about an hour
We visually inspect your rig, check fluids and components under the hood, look over suspension bushings and hardware, and torque-check most major suspension components. A second set of eyes and tools before a long trip.
Heads up: schedule these well before the trip. If we find something, we need time to fix it. These inspections don't guarantee your vehicle won't break down — they just dramatically improve your odds of making it home under your own power.
